🧍♂️Dev Health Hack #2 – Why a height-adjustable desk is worth it 💻
Even a simple one will make a difference
Hi fellow devs, coders, and wonderful humans 👋
If this is your first: I’m sharing small, practical dev health hacks that helped me feel better behind the screen—nothing fancy, just things that work for me.
I’m a developer, not a health guru. I'm just sharing what made a difference for me. From one developer to another 💻🧍.
Let’s dive into the next one 👇

Developer behind a height-adjustable desk (AI-generated)
Use a height-adjustable desk — even a simple one.
You don’t need to stand all day. But switching between sitting and standing during the day is such a game-changer. It helps you:
✅ Find the correct ergonomic position for your body (in the next edition, I will talk more about how I do that)
✅ Break up those long sitting marathons
✅ Add slight movement or stretch breaks between tasks
I used to sit for hours, thinking I was being super productive — but my lower back would strongly disagree 😅. Switching to a standing desk helped me move more without thinking about it.
A few tips from my setup:
💰 I use the IKEA Trotten. It’s manual but easy to adjust with a handle and pretty affordable.
⚡ If you’ve got the budget, the IKEA Mittzon is electric and has memory settings. Press a button and boom — perfect height every time.
It’s one of the easiest changes I made, but it has a big impact. I no longer slouch all day, and I actually feel more alert when standing.
Until next time — take care of that developer body! 🫶
